Backgrounds are now scanned and ready to be digitally painted.
I had previously scanned the backgrounds but my scanner at home is well bad, it likes to crop A4 and I’ve played around with the setting but it still does it.
Anyways I have scanned all background in class (but there is be one more background, a new shot added over the break).
The backgrounds they have turned out great, I’d like to thank Neale again for all his effort, thank you.
Now to say hello to my old friend colour pallets…
From my concept art I realized pastel colours appeal the most and settled on pastel colours for Pearl of wisdom style/look.
creating colour pallets there is a fantastic website for that;

I have a grasp on what colours are to be used but making a colour pallet first would be in my best interest.
I do already have some scenes which have a colour pallet all ready to rock and roll but not all scenes, as I did not do concept for every single scene, it shall take a little bit more time colouring the backgrounds I have no yet got a colour pallet for.
A couple of versions of the backgrounds different pastel colours to explore what will work and what won't.
Other than that things are going great on the background side of the things.
Here some example of pastel colours;
